Share your creativity and inspire our community of educators from all over the world at the International Baccalaureate (IB) Global Conference! 

Student and Alumni performances are opportunities for schools, students and alumni to showcase their talent in front of an international audience of approximately 1300 – 1700 IB Heads of School, Coordinators, Teachers, Sponsors, Exhibitors and Industry experts. 

Performances should focus on capturing the essence of the IB mission in the talent, ambition and drive of the students delivering the performance. Performances are limited to up to 8 minutes depending on where they are scheduled in the conference program. 

Performance recordings

Performances will be professionally recorded by our videography team. Video recordings and still images will be shared with the participating school and/or performers after the conference.

Performance schedule

Selected performances will be featured during one of the conference general sessions. Typical performance times are:

  1.  Opening General Session — Thursday, 5:15–5:23pm
  2.  Second General Session — Friday, 9:00–9:08am
  3.  Closing General Session — Saturday, 3:45–3:53pm

Exact dates and times will be confirmed for each conference.

To identify the corresponding calendar dates, please refer to the conference schedule on our conferences webpage.

For example, for the IB Global Conference, Bangkok 2027, the Opening General Session will take place on Thursday, 18 March 2027.

  • Professionalism and poise
  • Energy and connection with audience
  • 12 performers maximum on stage at the same time

Eligibility requirements

  • The total duration of each performance proposed must not exceed 8 minutes.
  • If  the application is accepted, everyone that appears in the performance  will need to fill out the applicable Image Consent Form from the IB.

  • upon reception of your performance proposal, the Global Conferences team  will get back to the person listed as IB World School contact name within 2 weeks.

Full-day pre-conference workshops will take place on Thursday, 18 March,  from 9:00am–2:45pm. With breaks and lunch included, there will be 4.5 hours of teaching time. Pre-conference workshops are designed for educators seeking to strengthen their professional and leadership skills. Workshops should explore educational practices that support starting and sustaining IB programmes. Some workshops may be IB-specific, while others may address broader topics with a direct impact on the IB programmes in schools and communities. Workshops are led by IB workshop leaders and senior IB staff and should include varied teaching strategies and interactive experiences designed for adult learners.

Presenter benefits

Accepted primary workshop presenters will receive travel, hotel accommodation for up to four nights and complimentary conference registration. Co-presenters will receive complimentary conference registration and are responsible for their own travel and hotel accommodation. 

Key dates and deadlines

Submissions will be accepted until Friday, 11 September 2026. The IB Review Committee will review all proposals, and presenters will be notified of their proposal status no later than Friday, 18 September 2026.

Thank you for your interest in presenting a breakout session for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Global Conference, Bangkok 2027, to be held 18-20 March 2027 in Thailand. Proposal submissions will be accepted until Friday 30 October 2026. Once you have completed the form, the IB Review Committee will consider your proposal and notify you no later than Monday 30 November 2026.             

Please note the following:   

  • The proposal submission process will close on 30 October 2026 (11:59pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)). Unfortunately, submissions received after the deadline or incomplete submissions will not be considered. 
  • All sessions are 75 minutes in length and should include interaction and discussion. 
  • Individuals may not submit or appear on more than two proposals, either as primary or secondary presenters. 
  • Registration: On confirmation of an accepted proposal, all presenters and co-presenters will be required to register for the conference by Friday 8 January 2027. As a presenter, you will enjoy the discounted early bird conference registration fee. Exact fees will be communicated upon acceptance of proposal. This discount cannot be combined with other discounts.
  • The same school or institution may not appear on more than two proposals. If more than two proposals from the same school or institution are submitted, proposals with the highest rating will be considered for acceptance.
  • Presentations should focus only on professional development. Submissions with commercial promotion purposes will not be considered.
  • Cancellations: If you are unable to attend the conference due to one of the following situations, please alert the IB within 24 hours at globalconferences@ibo.org.

               o Change in travel regulations restricting participants travelling to Bangkok

               o Change in local regulations limiting the number of participants allowed at the conference                         

               o Personal medical reasons; participants will need to submit a doctor or other medical practitioner’s report or note
